XHTML/CSS web site and custom PHP/MySQL CMS development, including regional content and online plant catalogue.
I've been involved with web design and development for a while now. It's been Internet, World Wide Web (and anything related) all the way for me since I got my first connection set up in the early 90's.
Since then I have done pretty much everything webby, from graphical design, to coding, to consultancy, to business management. I've worked in a variety of ways, in a variety of roles, for a variety of companies and organisations (please feel free to read my resume if you're interested).
I am heavily into accessibility, standards-compliance, structural markup, usability, meaningful content and stuff that just plain works. I've been spending a lot of time over the last few years doing web application design and development and have developed my own Content Management System.
My preferred mode of working nowadays is as a freelancer or consultant. I am happy to take on complete web development projects, and can resource and direct larger teams if required. I am also happy to work as part of a team, or in a consultancy or advisory capacity. I am nothing if not flexible.
I could go on all day but it's probably best (at least until I can write some better copy) to let my folio do the talking. There are a few sites on the page, so please be patient if it takes a while to load.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like further information.
David Fromant is a pleasure to work with, right from the beginning as we were developing our new website all the way to delivery. He helped us see clearly what we were looking for - often when we were not sure - providing lots of suggestions on areas we had not thought of and then delivering what he promised.
It is so nice when you can work with someone who can clearly see what YOU are trying to achieve and then make it all happen with a minimum of fuss. We are left with a website that we can easily change, update and add to. Often talked about but not very often delivered.
What we have today is a website that is fun to work with, easy to maintain and sits well in the top areas of the search engines. What more could you ask for?
