Art Gallery Content Administration
The Art Gallery Content Administration System is an implementation of my CMS that has been designed specifically to administer content for Art Galleries.
It uses the same secure framework as my standard CMS, and of course can contain any or all of the usual features, The difference is that this implementation contains functionality specific to art gallery content administration. Update: As I seem to be getting a lot of email asking one of the two following questions:
- The CMS is currently only available as part of my web development services. It is not a stand-alone product and is not available for sale as such.
- No, it is not open-source and you cannot have it for free.
The screens shown here are used with kind permission from Sullivan+Strumpf Fine Art, a fine arts gallery in Sydney who are using the system to run their web site.
Artists Administration
You can enter as little or as much information for an artist as you wish, from just their name, to a photo, statement and full CV.
Additionally you can choose whether the artist is exhibited or represented as well, and you can make the artist inactive if you wish to remove them (and their artworks) from display without deleting them from the system.
Artworks Adminstration
Artworks can be added or edited as easily as clicking a link. Each artwork can include any or all of the following information: Name, Image, Artist, Medium, Dimensions, Date, Stock Code, Price (designed to be linked to a merchant system), & Description.
You can add or change an image by clicking a link and using the simple upload facility. Like artists, artworks can be made inactive if you wish to remove them from display without deleting them from the system.
Exhibitions Administration
Galleries would be nothing without exhibitions. Exhibitions can be made active or inactive and displayed between the dates you specify. Descriptive text is simple to add and edit using the supplied form.
Once the exhibition details have been created, adding artworks is a breeze. You can add them by artist or by individual artwork. The process has been designed to be as simple as possible.
Press Releases and Reviews
Press Releases and/or reviews can be added to artists or exhibitions.
You can add files (eg. scans of magazine or newspaper articles), links to pages on other sites, or enter text into the supplied form.
